Off-Loom Weaving Workshop (November 1 & 8, 2025)

$0.00

Led by Artist, Fálki Heiđdótti

Discover the art of weaving—no loom required! In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore creative, accessible techniques for weaving using natural materials, yarn, and found objects. Learn how to build texture, pattern, and color through simple hand-weaving methods that can be done anywhere.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned maker, this workshop invites you to slow down, experiment, and connect with the meditative rhythm of weaving. You’ll leave with a beautiful, one-of-a-kind woven piece and the skills to continue creating at home.

This workshop welcomes children ages 8 and up with their families, as well as adults who would like to create and connect in a fun, collaborative setting. Younger siblings are welcome with the support of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult. Please note that this is not a drop-off event—it’s an opportunity for children and families to learn and create together.

This creative arts workshop is free to attend, thanks to the generosity of the Elmina B. Sewall Foundation and support from a grant by the Onion Foundation.

If you’d like to support our work, we welcome cash donations at The Orchard during the event, or you can make a virtual donation anytime here on our website.
