Artists

Selected artists, Liz Allen of Local Mud and others, are funded in part by a grant through The Onion Foundation. Each works directly with community members in creative workshop settings. Children and families are given enriching experiences in the creative visual arts.

Liz Allen creates handmade pottery inspired by nature.

“Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of northern Maine has inspired my artistic style. I enjoy shaping clay into beautiful functional pieces of art. I am always exploring modern and primitive techniques,  and pushing the boundaries of my craft. Pottery connects us to our roots, to the earth, and to each other.”

Fálki Heiđdóttir is an Intuitive Healer, Guide, Yoga Teacher, Artist.

"I am a comics creator, an artist, and a curious maker of things. I am a mover and a dedicated seeker of stillness. All my practices and offerings are inspired and informed by more than two decades as a professional therapist, my connection to nature and the seasons, and a driving certainty that creativity and physical movement are the best ways to directly connect with the dancing, spinning, creative Universe we live in."

Risica Caputi is an Emerging Artist in northern Maine.

“After fracturing my dominant left wrist in 2023, I turned to art to cope with the pain, surgeries, and recovery. With no prior experience in visual art, I began experimenting with different mediums, focusing on linoleum relief printing and mixed media painting. Inspired by lines, organic movement, and beauty in unlikely forms, my work ranges from realism to abstraction. My paintings have appeared in exhibitions with Ten Moir Gallery and Art Agent Maine, in ArtSloth Magazine, and in Maine galleries, including the Wintergreen Arts Center and the Bangor Public Library.”
