2026 Cyanotype Printing Workshops for Children and Families (ages 6+)

$0.00

Led by Risica

Discover the magic of one of the oldest photographic printing techniques in this hands-on Cyanotype Printing Workshop! Using sunlight, water, and specially coated paper, participants will create beautiful blue-and-white prints inspired by nature, textures, and everyday objects.

During the workshop, participants will explore the history of cyanotype photography, experiment with composition and design, and learn the step-by-step process of creating their own unique prints. Leaves, flowers, feathers, lace, and other interesting materials can be arranged to create striking silhouettes and patterns before being exposed to sunlight and developed in water.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, creatives, families, and anyone who enjoys art, nature, and experimentation. Participants will leave with finished cyanotype prints and the knowledge to continue creating at home.

Come slow down, explore creativity, and experience the wonder of art made with sunlight.

This family workshop is FREE to attend, thanks to the generosity of Elmina B. Sewall Foundation, Quimby Family Foundation, and sponsored in part by a grant from the Onion Foundation. If you’d like to support our work, there will be a place for cash donations at The Orchard during the event. You can also make a virtual, cashless donation anytime on our website.

DATES & TIMES: July 24 & August 28, 5:30-7:00pm
LOCATION:
Studio Barn at The Orchard (250 Waters Rd, Patten, ME 04765)
