Calling all young storytellers, doodlers, and imaginative creators! Join us for a fun and interactive Family-Friendly Comics Playshop where children and families will explore comic creation through drawing, storytelling, and play.
Participants will experiment with character design, facial expressions, speech bubbles, and simple storytelling while creating their own mini comics together. This relaxed, hands-on workshop encourages creativity, collaboration, and self-expression — no drawing experience needed.
This playful session is designed for children ages 8+ and their families. Younger siblings are welcome with the support of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult. Please note, this is not a drop-off event—it’s an opportunity for children and families to learn and create together.
Comics Playshop is free to attend, thanks to the generosity of Elmina B. Sewall Foundation, Quimby Family Foundation, and sponsored in part by a grant from the Onion Foundation. If you’d like to support our work, there will be a place for cash donations at The Orchard during the event. You can also make a virtual, cashless donation anytime on our website.
July 18 & August 22
