Unleash your creativity in this hands-on workshop where you’ll dream up your own monsters and bring them to life on the page. Learn the basics of comic design—storytelling, character creation, and visual style—then create your very own short comic to take home. No experience needed, just your imagination!
This workshop is designed for children ages 8+ and their families. Younger siblings are welcome with the support of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult. Please note, this is not a drop-off event—it’s an opportunity for children and families to learn and create together.
Our comics workshop is free to attend, thanks to the generosity of Elmina B. Sewall Foundation and sponsored in part by a grant from the Onion Foundation. If you’d like to support our work, there will be a place for cash donations at The Orchard during the event. You can also make a virtual, cashless donation anytime here on our website.
